Rotagravure printing

Rotogravure (or roto, or gravure) is an intaglio printing process. Ink from the non printing surface is removed by a thin steel plate - doctor blade.

Engraving is made on copper surface of printing cylinder with and is folloed by chrome coating. Rotogravure printing is notable for its half tones unreachable for other printing methods. This is the reason why this method is widely used to print glossy magzines, flexible packaging, secured printing and lables.

Due to usage of solvent based inks with short drying time a high printing speed can be achieved.  Also the printing method is remarkable for perfect image repeatability in a row of print runs and low cost of the printing process.
